A new release from Ardnamurchan is always cause for excitement, and a super limited bottling like this one even more so! Collaborating with Smidge, makers of Scotland's most popular midge-repellent (yes, really) for some light-hearted branding celebrating the infamous pest.
The whisky itself is rather serious business, a vatting of Madeira, Sauternes, Sherry and Bourbon casks used to mature a 60/40 blend of peated and unpeated spirit. An outturn of just 6400 bottles, so get in quick if you're interested!
Brandy snaps, orange zest and heather honey are the first impression, joined by subtle peat smoke aromas. On the palate it is smooth and rounded, with grilled peach, stem ginger and a lovely smoky finish. Another winner from this excellent little distillery!
