Chateau Brane-Cantenac is located to the west of the Cantenac village in the Margaux appelation of Bordeaux. For many years the home of Lucien Lurton and is now owned and run by his son Henri. Brane-Cantenac's vineyards are planted with the classic Bordeaux varietals and lie on fine, gravelly soils.
Château Brane-Cantenac is seen as one of the pinnacles of Margaux and for good reason. Baron is the property’s second wine, made with the same strict attention as its older sibling and given a shorter, 12-month barrel ageing to achieve an aromatic, densely flavoured style, with elegant tannins. The 2010 vintage has a nose of pure blackberry, wet stone and a slight tobacco aroma. The palate is balanced, smooth and round, with red fruit and menthol flavours supported by hints of spice.
