Bibo Runge is the brainchild of Walter Bibo and Kai Runge, born out of their extensive discussions in the autumn of 2013. Nestled in the picturesque region of Hallgarten, their small winery is dedicated to employing environmentally friendly and sustainable practices. Embracing the tradition of the vine, their estate boasts vines that are thirty years old or more, resulting in a naturally lower yield compared to conventional methods.

In 2021, Bibo Runge achieved a remarkable milestone by obtaining certification as the most sustainable winery in Germany. Surpassing the average German winemaker, they have successfully reduced their CO2 emissions by an impressive 75%. This dedication to sustainability is a testament to their commitment to preserving the environment.

At Bibo Runge, the winemaking process begins with delicately crushing the grapes in a mill. The subsequent transfer to the basket press is carried out solely through the gentle force of gravity, applying minimal pressure. This meticulous approach allows for the extraction of aromatic components from the berry skins, resulting in a wine that exhibits heightened richness and exceptional length. The end result is a collection of wines that boast a remarkable texture, displaying both finesse and elegance.

This 2018 vintage has aromas of ripe pear and pineapple. On the palate, the wine is intense and full-bodied with a mature, rich texture and a clear, straight acidity.
