The Butcher and Cleaver Red Blend is a celebration of great meat and a tribute to their local butcher in Franschhoek. Roughly equal parts Shiraz and Pinotage, with small drops of Mourvedre and Durif in support. It spends 14 months in oak, with 30% new barrels - the kind of luxury treatment you rarely see at this price point!
Bold and spicy on the nose with cinnamon, black pepper and coffee bean alongside ripe red cherry and plum. Plush and generous, with smooth tannins and a lovely long fresh finish. As the name suggests, its ideal for meat - beef, pork, lamb, grilled, roasted, however you like it!
