Beginning with 60 like-minded growers in 1971, the Carmim co-operative now includes 800 members covering 3000 hectares of Alentejo vineyards. In their state-of-the-art new winemaking facility the winemaking team works with precision to craft their range.
The Terras d'el Rei Tinto comes from vineyards between the Monsaraz and Reguengo sub-regions and is a blend of the local varieties Trincadeira, Aragonez and Castelao. Aragonez is better known by its Spanish name, as the Tempranillo of Rioja fame.
A gentle and smooth red, with lovely red cherry, blackberry and cranberry fruit notes. Medium-bodied with ripe tannins and good freshness, the flavour persists nicely with a hint of cinnamon spice in the finish. A great everyday drinker, suited for roasted meats and vegetables, mushroom dishes and tomato sauces.
