Ramilo Family Wines are a fourth generation family run business near Lisbon. Their vineyards are split across two locales: the sandy ungrafted vineyards of Colares, right on the shoreline, and the limestone slopes of the Lizandro river valley.
The Colheita Branco comes from their Lizandro river vineyards, in the foothills of the Sintra mountains. Fresh Atlantic air, cool nights and the limestone soils all contribute to the lovely sense of freshness in this delicious white blend.
Hand-picked Fernao Pires, Viosinho and Alvarinho fermented with native yeast in stainless steel tanks. Grapefruit, lime zest and sea salt come through first on the nose, followed by some floral and peach notes. The palate is dry and very focused, with lots of minerality and a touch of green herbs alongside lemony fruit.
