This 80 hectare estate in the Costieres de Nimes was founded by monks in the 11th century, producing wine for pilgrims on the route to Santiago de Compostela. Now in the hands of the Castillon family, lead by Jerome and his son Tanguy, the 9th and 10th generations of winemakers in the family. They have farmed organically for a long time and achieved certification in 2020 alongside biodynamic certification from Demeter.

The Gavroche Rouge is a Vin de France made from their younger vines for an everyday easy drinking red. 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah fermented naturally and unoaked to preserve freshness. Ripe raspberry and brambly blackberry notes mingle with the characterful 'garrigue' herb notes typical of wines from Nimes. Soft tannins and juicy acidity make it very appetising, a wine you won't want to put down!
