Owned by the Mestre family, Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange has been managed by Corinne Mestre and her husband Yannick Gasparri since 1988, with their son Jules joining them in 2017. The vineyards are located in various plots around Châteauneuf du Pape, with a small parcel in Côte du Rhône. The vineyard composition is 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 15% Mourvedre.

Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange is dedicated to environmentally friendly practices. They use pheromone traps to confuse male butterflies and prevent mating, and the rows are ploughed instead of using herbicides. Their goal is to produce the healthiest possible grapes while maintaining the health of the land.

Following vinification, 50% of the harvest is aged in large oak barrels for 12 months.

This delicious red from Châteauneuf-du-Pape delivers the exceptional quality expected from this renowned wine region. The aroma features notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, oak, tobacco, and violets, which carry through to the palate. The wine boasts a well-balanced weight and texture, full-bodied yet not overpowering. It has sufficient acidity to provide structure, with noticeable but smooth tannins that lead to a flavourful, dry finish.

This wine would pair wonderfully with roast lamb.
