The Badoz family have been making wine in Jura since 1659, passing down traditional winemaking techniques and local know-how from father to son for more than 10 generations! Domaine Badoz is situated in Poligny, in the heart of the Jura vineyards. This is a hilly area in eastern France, known for it's great gastronomy.
Benoit left home to hone his craft, working in Puligny Montrachet and Ch Petrus in Pomerol, before returning home to carry on the Badoz family winemaking history. Benoit's father had set about replanting the vineyards in 1970, matching varietal to a suitable soil. When Benoit took over in 2003, he continued to make improvements in the vineyards and in the winery, resulting in some very impressive wines.
Made with the ancient white grape Savagnin Blanc (not to be confused with Sauvignon Blanc). Similar in style to Chardonnay, in this instance it has resulted in a wine full of complex texture and ripe fruit flavours with a pleasant lengthy finish.
