The Sorine estate is owned and run by the heirs of one of the oldest families in Santenay. The family estate was rebuilt in 1946 by Jean Sorine and was then taken over by his son Christian in 1990. Today Christian is joined by his wife Emma in the vineyards and winery. With limited vineyards available in Santenay the estate has grown and now also includes some Maranges. Their aim is to make wines that are true to their place, and have minerality and purity. Although they are not certified organic, they exclusively use organic and manual treatments in the vineyard and they use minimal intervention and the smallest possible dose of sulphite in the cellar.

The Bourgogne Chardonnay is made in a beautifully elegant style, with subtle floral notes, apple and pear fruit and minerality dominant rather than oak or lees character. The silky medium-body and crisp acidity are in perfect harmony, giving it an almost weightless feel despite its depth of flavour and long finish. A lovely Burgundy for the purists, and perfect for delicate fish dishes like sole meuniere or sashimi.
