Domaine Georges Noëllat, in the heart of the village of Vosne-Romanee, is a historic estate now helmed by the young and highly talented Maxime Cheurlin, grandson of founder Georges. He took over in 2010 aged just 20 years old, after studying at the Lycee du Viticole and gaining experience at the outstanding Rouget and Gros family domaines.

Maxime's winemaking style is heralded for the gentle treatment of the grapes, allowing terroir and finesse to shine through. He destems almost all of his red grapes, and allows for a natural extraction without excessive punch downs to achieve deliciously balanced tannins. After aging the wines are bottled without fining or filtration.

A site at the southern end of Beaune, near to Pommard. The Noëllat family have 0.66 hectare parcel of vines around 40 years old, planted in rich clay soil giving an ample and fruit-forward style.

Ripe plum and blackcurrant fruit with some spicy and woody oak notes, this is quite a full-bodied Burgundy, but still with the lovely refined structure and freshness common among the Noëllat range. Delicious with a good roast chicken or mushroom wellington.
