Romain Guiberteau is a very ambitious young producer who runs the Estate since 1996 and produces Saumur appellation wines, It is located 12 km south of Saumur, in the village of Saint-Just-sur-Dive and only grows two grape varieties: Cabernet Franc and Chenin. The vineyard extends over 17 hectares, in the communes of Bizay, Brézé, Chacé, Montreuil Bellay and Saint-Just-sur-Dive.
The vineyard has been organically grown since 2003. All synthetic products are prohibited: only sulphur, copper, essential oils and plant decoctions are used and all vines are hand-harvested.
This Cabernet Franc matures in stainless steel to preserve the immediacy and freshness of the fruit.It is fresh and lively with expression of a bouquet of juicy red cherries, ground anise, ink and nettle on the nose for a long finish. Despite its ease of drinking, the wine has great structure and good ageing potential.
