The Iris Malbec is made by Bodegas Staphyle, which is owned by the Porretta family. They realised their winemaking dream in 2002 when they rebuilt their 1930s winery. They are based in Carrodilla, Luyan de Cuyo in Mendoza Argentina. They have prime site vineyards, planted with red and white grape varieties. Everything is done manually on the farm, with a high attention to detail
The wine is fermented and aged in small oak barrels for six months. It is a bright, floral, juicy style of Malbec, you could even slightly chill it. A pretty wine, made for easy drinking, perhaps while sitting in the garden watching nature come alive.
