In the sandy Roero sub-region of Piemonte, the Arneis variety thrives, and the Marco Porello estate produces this delicious example. From the low-yielding, steep Camestri vineyard in Vezza d'Alba, this shows delicious concentration and freshness.
Aromas of white grapefruit, peach and pear with a little floral note reminiscent of jasmine make for a very appealing nose. Ageing on the fine lees before bottling has given an underlying creaminess to the palate, which brings together juicy orchard fruits with fine chalky minerality. A lovely white to pair with pasta carbonara or white fish dishes.
