Nestled in Gries, in the heat-retaining Bolzano basin, where sandy alluvial soils enriched with porphyry lend a distinctive character to this remarkable wine. Embraced by a Mediterranean climate, the Sand Lagrein is infused with the warmth and sun-soaked allure typical of the south.
Crafted with utmost care and expertise, the Lagrein grapes are carefully hand-harvested, ensuring only the finest selection. After a meticulous destemming process, the must undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks, where gentle pumping over enhances its character. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation, allowing its flavours to evolve gracefully. It is aged for seven months in 40 hl wooden barrels, resulting in a wine of exceptional depth and complexity.
Maraschino cherry and blackberry dance on the palate, accompanied by delightful hints of pepper leaf and a lingering aroma of liquorice in the finish. The wine's density and freshness awaken your senses, while full-flavored tannins and balsamic undertones add layers of complexity and elegance.
Beautifully complements a roast lamb with potatoes, where its robust flavours and velvety texture harmonize with the succulent meat.
