Nals Margreid is a winery in the Alto Adige Italy, Nals and Margreid are two vineyard areas. The winery was established as a cooperative in 1932, they source fruit from over 300 trusted growers in the area. The focus is always on quality and being ecologically aware. They have made a name for themselves highlighting local varieties and the differences between the multitude of tiny vineyard sites.
Sirmian is made from 100% Pinot Bianco, which is also known as Weissburgnder in the area, and this one comes from their top vineyard. Pinot Bianco thrives in this region and is often regarded as the top wine of any wine maker's range. This one is wonderfully concentrated, rich and unctuous, but also has a laser like purity, with a salty minerality. It is a very classy wine, which is showing well now but will develop over many years. We think the wines of Alto Adige are underrated, there are many rewards for the drinker who seeks them out.
