Established in 1985, Parker Estate are one of the leading producers in Coonawarra, Australia's premier region for fine Cabernet Sauvignon. Their estate Abbey Vineyard is in the cooler southern part of of the region, planted on the famous 'Terra Rossa' iron-rich limestone soil. At the head of winemaking is Andrew Hardy, who with 40 years of experience in Coonawarra knows how to coax out the very best of this style.
A deep and structured wine, with blackcurrant, earth and minty herbs on the nose. The broad palate has finely grained tannins and a fresh finish. More black fruits with anise, cocoa and nutmeg notes linger on the palate. The wine spends 12 months ageing in French oak barrels, softening the tannins and adding rich spice and toast notes.
