Producer Sara Beer has upheld Pilcrow's 'quiet wine' philosophy, where winemaking is kept simple and honest, so the wine fully expresses the uniqueness of its terroir - the volcanic soils and the moderating cool breezes travelling up the warm valley floor.
Single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Merlot. Deep heady nose, opaque in colour. Classic Cabernet flavours of blueberry, blackcurrant with subtle granit (or pencil box) minerality. A lovely juicy and fresh style with well integrated tannins, not overly oaky. The Estate only produces 165 cases of Granit Lake so we are very pleased to have a few bottles of this rare wine in stock. A wine with good aging potential.
