Alongside training many of the English wine industry's best and brightest, Plumpton College produce some superb wine. Fruit is grown at their Rock Lodge Vineyard near Scaynes Hill and winemaking is undertaken largely by the students, under the supervision of excellent winemaker Deepika Koushik.
The Brut Classic is a blend of 41% Pinot Noir, 34% Pinot Meunier and 25% Chardonnay aged for more than two years on the lees before release. This gives the wine a full and generous mouthfeel, balanced by the typical crisp acidity of English sparkling wine. Expect fresh apple and grapefruit notes, with almond and brioche hints and lovely persistent bubbles.
This wine was recently awarded Best in Class English Brut NV at the 2023 Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships!
