From the birthplace of sauvignon blanc the loire is known for its fresh green wines filled with delicious minerality and their classic zippy citrus fruits.
Kickstarted by Didier Dageneau’s wine Silex, there was shift in focus towards expression of the flinty minerality produced by the soils along the loire. This created a wave of “silex” focused wines - few to get it right. but it's safe to say this wines got it very close to Dageneau's original cuvée without costing you upwards of £150 definitely worth a try.
