The Produttori del Barbaresco cooperative, located between Alba and Asti, has played a key role in elevating the reputation of Barbaresco wines. Founded in 1958 by a visionary village priest who united 19 small growers, the winery has since grown to include over 50 members cultivating more than 100 hectares of Nebbiolo vines—nearly a sixth of the entire Barbaresco appellation. Led by the highly respected Aldo Vacca for over 25 years, the cooperative continues to craft outstanding expressions of the region.
A benchmark for Barbaresco, this wine is both rich and refined, showcasing all the classic Nebbiolo characteristics. After two years in oak, it reveals bright cherry and raspberry notes, delicate floral aromatics, and a hint of mint, all framed by firm yet approachable tannins. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, it offers a juicy, lingering finish. Serious yet inviting, it delivers exceptional quality, especially when compared to a Barolo of similar calibre.
Enjoy it now or cellar it through the decade. For the perfect pairing, serve with braised beef in red wine, wild mushroom tagliatelle, or slow-cooked lamb, anything rich and hearty to complement its depth and structure.
