One of our favourite affordable reds vintage after vintage, and the warm, earthy 2023 is no exception. Saladini Pilastri is an organic wine and olive oil producer in the Marche region of eastern Italy, working with the traditional varieties of the region.
The characteristics of this wine are its typical deep ruby colour, vinous bouquet and dry harmonic taste. It is produced from only the best Sangiovese and Montepulciano grapes, and mellowed in oak barrels. Red cherries and berries, balsamic undertones and herby hints make for a well-balanced flavour that pairs excellently with tomato-based dishes and roasted or grilled meats.
