Two decades ago, the Rheinhessen region was synonymous with inexpensive bottles of Liebfraumilch. Fast forward to today, and it's a hotbed of rock-star winemakers like Florian Fauth, who crafts terroir-driven, electrifying wines from these very same vineyards.

While Klaus Peter Keller remains the iconic figure of the area, producing undoubtedly exceptional yet astronomically priced wines (think £3500 per bottle), Florian—coincidentally Keller's brother-in-law—focuses on crafting mineral-rich, captivating wines from his sustainably managed 17-hectare vineyard plots in the renowned vineyards surrounding Westhofen.

Utilising a blend of 85% stainless steel and 15% oak, Florian's wines derive from a blend of clay and marl vineyards. The result is a multi-faceted Riesling, thanks to its oak ageing, which strikes a balance between freshness and zip, while also offering a mellow, softer side that complements a wide array of dishes.
