Over the past 40 years, Giancarlo Travaglini has brought global recognition to Gattinara, a historic wine from northern Piedmont, known for its exceptional Nebbiolo-based red wines. This region, with its rich winemaking tradition, helped pave the way for Barolo and Barbaresco's rise to fame. Travaglini cultivates 50 of the 150 total hectares dedicated to DOCG wines in the Vercelli, Novara, and Biella provinces. The winery follows traditional methods, with medium to long macerations and aging in large Slavonian oak.
Their Nebbiolo wines, including the young and fresh 'Costa della Sesia,' are complex, full-bodied, and age gracefully, showcasing intense cherry fruit and rose petal aromas.
