Named after the winery owner of the Malbec grapes - Malbec in South African literally means crazy mouth. 100% Malbec - It grows on a slope of the Helderberg Mountain - not facing the ocean, but rather facing Stellenbosch. The wine is fermented without any stems and aged in older French Oak barrels for less than a year. It produces a fresh and elegant, yet complex wine. Medium intensity, with fresh crisp red and black berries, raw cacao and a saline quality. An incredible wine showing a completely different take on this famous grape.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
