Clea by Bardos is a project in Ribera del Duero and Rueda, meant to champion the forgotten history of women working the vineyards in the area. Created alongside the organisation Fademur, the Federation of Women’s Associations in Rural Areas, which supports rural projects and businesses run by women. Part of the profits from each Clea bottle sold supports these initiatives.
The Clea Verdejo comes from high altitude vineyards in Rueda, harvested at night to maintain the most freshness without oxidation. A fresh and crisp wine, with lime zest and cut grass aromas. Dry and persistent on the palate, with more green fruits and clean acidity. Great with salads and shellfish, it also has enough fruit to match deliciously with the spice of fish tacos.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
