Olivier Leflaive studied at business school before heading to Paris, where he lived a rather bohemian life in the 1970s. He returned to Burgundy in ’81 to manage Domaine Leflaive with his uncle Vincent. After a 15 year hiatus as a negociant he returned to take up his share of the vines.
This comes from vines on Meursault’s stony slope, uphill from 1st Growth Gouttes d’Or, just under the woods.The high elevation of this plot gives an airy, lively wine, full of intensity, purity and freshness. Aromas are tightly scented, very pretty, with concentrated flavours of white peach and citrus on the palate. Here is a vivacious, long flavoured and thoroughly invigorating bottle

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

Great Wine/Spirit shop with knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff
This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
