Always based on a number of white varieties, in this lovely 2022 vintage the blend is:
46% Chenin Blanc, 20% Chardonnay, 14% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Roussanne, 8% Viognier and 2% Marsanne
These component parts are brought together with barrel fermentation and lees ageing for 12 months to make a rounded, well-balanced and complex white wine. There is lovely richness of ripe peach and apricot fruit, with toasty and creamy notes and bright fresh finish. Subtle hints of fennel, quince and spices add further intrigue to this wonderfully complex white. Superb paired with chicken in tarragon cream sauce or fish pie.

Henry and Team managed to locate some difficult to find American wine which they kindly offered and I gratefully accepted. They truly differentiate by being able to surprise by sourcing stock very much outside the run of the mill.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
