The oldest Port producer, in operation since 1638, Kopke are specialists in crafting the finest wood-aged Ports. From their vineyards at Quinta Sao Luiz on the steep slopes above the Douro to their aging cellars in Vila Nova da Gaia, every stage of Port production is done in-house to the highest standards of quality.
A blend of 50% Touriga Nacional with 50% old-vine field blend from the Quinta Sao Luiz, Kopke's Vintage Port is a magnificent example of the style, displaying incredible intensity and depth of flavour in impeccable balance.
A fine and classic Port vintage, the 2008 Quinta Sao Luiz from Kopke is beautifully aromatic with notes of lavender, citrus oils and wild herbs alongside buckets of ripe black and red berries. Stunning power and richness on the palate is balanced by a subtle dry sensation, with tannins that while softened by age still provide ample structure. Pair with excellent dark chocolate or hard salty cheeses.
We recommend decanting Vintage Port before serving, as they produce a lot of sediment as they age

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
