The Agricola Marrone winery is based in the famous village of La Morra. The family has been working in the area for 4 generations now and have built a reputation for creating expressive and powerful wines.
The Barolo is the signature of the estate, made with careful selection of perfectly ripe bunches, long maceration and aging for 30 months in large traditional oak barrels.
Pale, bricky red colour typical of this region, with a stunning bouquet spanning orange peel, bresaola, oregano and wild strawberry. The tannins, though strong, are refined enough that this is drinkable now, although it will happily soften and develop in savoury character over the next 20 years if desired. Beautifully made, the 2019 is another classic Barolo from the Marrone family.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
