Winemaker Jolette Steyn seeks out sustainably farmed vineyards that prioritise biodiversity. She produces her wines in tiny quantities and embraces avant-garde, low intervention techniques in the cellar.
Just over 1000 bottles of this Stellenbosch Semillon were produced. The wine has 30% skin contact for 10 days with stems, and 70% whole bunches pressed then put into old oak for fermentation and ageing.
An unusual, orange wine, lightly golden in colour. Dried orange peel on the nose with apple, white pepper and sweet spice on the palate. A vibrant, textural wine with a fresh yet savoury finish.

Henry and Team managed to locate some difficult to find American wine which they kindly offered and I gratefully accepted. They truly differentiate by being able to surprise by sourcing stock very much outside the run of the mill.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
