Winemaker Jolette Steyn seeks out sustainably farmed vineyards that prioritise biodiversity. She produces her wines in tiny quantities and embraces avant-garde, low intervention techniques in the cellar.
We have carried this excellent wine since it's inaugural vintage in 2018 and are delighted that Jolette has been able to slightly increase production in 2022 (still only 2196 bottles!) so there is a little more to go around
Hand-picked Semillon from Stellenbosch, fermented on the skins with half whole-clusters (stems included) with native yeast. The wine is then aged in oak for 10 months and then bottle for a further 24 months.
Fruity, herbal, creamy, spicy - this is a very multifaceted wine, with lovely smooth tannins and fresh acidity. Citrus peel, white pepper, creme fraiche and apricot are just some of the many layers of flavour that unfurl from this thrilling wine.

Henry and Team managed to locate some difficult to find American wine which they kindly offered and I gratefully accepted. They truly differentiate by being able to surprise by sourcing stock very much outside the run of the mill.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
