Ardnamurchan is a small, independent distillery nestled in the rugged Scottish Highlands. They pride themselves on using traditional methods and only the finest locally sourced ingredients to create their exceptional whiskies.
'Maclean's Nose' is the name of a small peninsula near the Ardnamurchan Distillery - and also a description of one of the most important tools used by one of the world's most renowned whisky writers. - Charles MacLean. It is no surprise then that Adnamurchan have teamed up with this whisky icon to create an incredible blend for a limited run with only 25,000 bottles produced. Maclean's Nose is blended to have a West Coast Character with both a high malt content (70%) and a high proportion of ex-sherry casks.
With a nose of burnt citrus peel, sea salt, bonfire. Nectarine syrup, lime marmalade, hay bales and coal bunker. On the palate it has puffed rice, homemade rice pudding and white
chocolate with touches of bright citrus and chantilly cream.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

Henry and Team managed to locate some difficult to find American wine which they kindly offered and I gratefully accepted. They truly differentiate by being able to surprise by sourcing stock very much outside the run of the mill.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
