Since 1982, Bernard Moreau has skilfully overseen his family Domaine nestled in the Mâconnais, situated near the charming village of Chardonnay, sharing its name with the famed grape. Drawing from 60-year-old vines rooted in calcareous soils with excellent sun exposure, Moreau's meticulous approach creates a wine of depth and concentration. The 2021 vintage, according to Jancis Robinson, brings a blend of abundant fruit and refreshing qualities to the whites.
Bernard employs sustainable, environmentally friendly vineyard practices, resulting in a well-balanced wine. Expect creamy roundness, ripe pear intertwined with crisp minerality, and finesse. Best enjoyed cellar-cool, this wine pairs excellently with chicken or creamy dishes, representing a timeless classic.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

Great Wine/Spirit shop with knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff
This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
