Domaine des Trinites is a 24 hectare estate on the schist soils of Faugeres and Pezenas in the Languedoc. Owner and winemaker Simon Coulshaw farms organically and follows a very natural winemaking process in the cellar. His wines are beautiful expressions of this southern French terroir, fresh and drinkable with expressive fruit and minerality.
Le Portail is their classic Faugeres, 55% Syrah with 30% Mourvedre and 15% Grenache. Bold and complex in aroma, the Syrah character is on full display with pepper, black olive and rosemary notes alongside ripe blackberry and damson fruit. Ripe, silky tannins and clean acidity give it lovely texture on the palate, full of dark fruit but not overly heavy or hot in the slightest. Grilled meats, mushroom dishes and game will love being paired with Le Portail!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
