A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot made by the Pursued by Bear winery owned by actor Kyle MacLachlan it is punchy and powerful but with a seductive smoothness. Blackcurrant, Victoria plum and cocoa aromas lend the nose a sense of luxury which carries over to the sumptuous palate of black cherries tinged with vanilla and cinnamon.
Ridgeview Cavendish NV, England - £35
If you're looking to celebrate local while you celebrate love, a bottle of benchmark sparkling wine from Ditchling-based Ridgeview is a perfect option. Made with a majority of Pinot Noir and aged for at least 18-months on lees it is rich and sensual, with raspberry, blood orange and frangipane aromas paired with a fine bead.
